It all began in a garage
In the few years since its founding, brillebrille.de has rapidly grown into one of the most successful optical frames discounters on the German market - which is one of the most competitive markets in the world. Tens of thousands of optical frames, sunglasses and cases in particular leave the company every month. Under the original name SUN & FUN, brillebrille.de was founded in 1998 by former visual art director Joachim Neubauer in the garage of his private home in Hückelhoven, near to the border with the Netherlands. For the first two years, the young company was concerned exclusively with the sale of sunglasses. As of the year 2000, Neubauer - who previously worked in the creative environment of the German fashion capital of Düsseldorf - expanded his selection with individual brands in the technical area of corrective lenses and ready-made reading glasses.
Sun & Fun became brillebrille.de
In order to eliminate daily confusion with another optical frames company with a similar name, SUN & FUN became the company brillebrille.de, which can be translated as "glassesglasses.de", in the summer of 2002. Today, brillebrille.de supplies more than 4,000 customer in 42 countries worldwide. In total, you will find about 500 different optical frames, 120 different ready-made reading glasses, about 600 sunglasses and various displays, optical frames accessories and travel display boxes in the online shop of brillebrille.de at nearly unheard-of prices.
International Expansion
With courage, a definite sense of style and an unmistakeable instinct for trends and fashion, Joachim Neubauer has developed the trendy label TIM DILSEN into one of the highest-selling brands of optical frames in Germany since 2003. In order to make TIM DILSEN even more successful, Neubauer and his team are embarking on a new course: rapid international expansion via the leading world fairs in Munich, Milano, Paris, Birmingham, Las Vegas, Madrid and New York - and strong sales growth embedded in professional product marketing.
In 2010 brillebrille.de is planning to move to the nearby city Erkelenz.
